I have been very fickle with sterilization because I always put myself in my patients' shoes. And with the recent pandemic, COVID-19 or Sars-CoV-2, we have to add additional protection just to be sure that you and I are safe.
When I started the dental clinic, I always instill in myself and the staff that the instruments and the clinic should be sterile enough that we, ourselves, can be treated in the clinic and feel comfortable because it is clean and safe.
COVID-19 is airborne in a clinic set-up and the new set of protocols added are for the control of both aerosol and droplets.
Aside from the standard Dental Clinic sterilization, patients play an important role to stop the spread of the virus within the office. Thus the following protocols are set for every patient we attend to.
This is a general infographic and information made for the general public hoping to safely visit our clinic, we also have other disinfection protocols in cleaning instruments like ultrasonic cleaners, and chemical sterilization, among other things. If you want in-depth knowledge of exactly the process of our sterilization, you may email me at dr.rafaelle@gmail.com. And like what I always say, I usually blog in ways that patients can understand, steering away from the usual medical and scientific terms. Well, that's about everything today. Take care!
